The Castagnata Stiana is one of the most-awaited autumn festivals of Pratovecchio Stia, a day when the town gathers to celebrate the chestnut and the arrival of the season. In the streets of Stia visitors can taste typical chestnut products such as roast chestnuts (caldarroste), chestnut cake (castagnaccio), frittelle and sweets, while craft markets and street artists animate the town. It is a warm, folkloristic celebration of the Pratomagno’s most iconic fruit.
