About this event
Held in the medieval historic centre of Poppi beneath the Castello dei Conti Guidi, Il Gusto dei Guidi is the village’s flagship wine festival, returning for its 28th edition on 21-23 August 2026. Over three evenings (tastings from 18:00), wineries from across Tuscany - with a strong focus on the emerging mountain-grown wines of the Casentino and a special guest cellar from Piedmont, Cantina La Smeralda - set up tasting tables in the historic cellars, medieval vaults and squares of the borgo, while visitors taste with the glass-and-lanyard kit included in the entry ticket. The evenings pair local wines with traditional Casentino gastronomy (a Punto Ristoro serving traditional dishes plus offers from local restaurants), Saturday morning hosts the enological competition ‘Concorso Enologico’ judged by AIS sommeliers, and the nights close with live shows including the Sbandieratori flag-throwers around 21:00. Organised by the Pro Loco Centro Storico di Poppi with the Comune di Poppi; tickets and tastings are sold on site and a continuous shuttle runs from Piazza Garibaldi.
