Straccabike is one of the Casentino’s historic mountain-bike races, returning on 30 August for its 34th edition as a Gran Fondo MTB based in Pratovecchio-Stia. Riders choose between two courses - a long route of about 46 km and a medium route of about 30 km - that climb through scenic Tuscan hills on dirt roads, tracks and singletrack, with refreshment (aid) stations, chip timing and a strong bond to the surrounding countryside. The event is organized by the Gruppo Sportivo Avis Pratovecchio Straccabike, departs at 09:30 from the Kauzen Stadium in Pratovecchio, and rounds off with post-race services including showers, food and a pasta party. It suits everyone from club racers to weekend riders simply out to enjoy riding the land.
