About this event
The traditional Sagra della Polenta of Montemignaio, held at the village sports ground, is dedicated to polenta made from both maize and chestnut flour, a fruit of the surrounding woods. Lunch is served from midday with a menu of chestnut polenta, yellow polenta, brici (roast chestnuts), porchetta, sausages, beans and the inevitable wine. In the afternoon the festival continues with craft markets and food stands gathered around a blazing hearth, while the morning offers an excursion in the chestnut grove (marroneta) and a visit to the seccatoio, all accompanied by music and village festivity.
